Friend: How come sex before marriage is a sin, yet Adam and Eve were never married, yet supposed to have kids? Hmm..

Me: Read the Bible and look at what marriage actually is. Marriage is a unity and a bond because how marriage is defined in the bible, Adam and Eve were defiantly married.

Friend: Marriage was a cultural way to bring two people together to either:

1. Create a strong ruling family
2. Create a wealthy family
3. Bond two people for reputational reasons.

Adam and Eve “existed” before any kind of culture was created and only brought together for procreation.

Also, since Eve was formed from Adam’s rib, that would mean they shared the exact same DNA sequence. Making Eve a man. Making Adam and Eve gay twins.

Me: That’s great you have the CULTURAL definition of marriage, but unfortunately not God’s definition of marriage. Yes, Adam and Eve were created to procreate (as all of us were) Genesis 1:28 and yes Eve was created out of Adams rib. If you know a little about a stand of DNA, millions of genes can be in one single stand of DNA. Making million of different combinations when combined with a secondary source (like eggies and spremies) If they shared the same biological complex Eve would have been Adam not Eve. To say that God is only limited to creating the same exact thing out of a strand of DNA that has millions of combinations is limiting God’s power all together. (I’m a victim of this too don’t worry). But if God can create Adam out of dust imagine what he did with Eve. I love that you ask questions, when people question they hope to gain knowledge. Your awesome

Friend: If you knew anything about DNA you’d know that one person has 23 pairs of chromosomes. In those 23 pairs there is the 23rd chromosome (sex chromosome). A male chromosome is XY and female is just X. So unless Adam’s rib had one less chromatid, his DNA transferred over to Eve would make her a man due to the XY chromosome. Also, the Bible has no clear definition on marriage. In fact, all God said about men and women is that they should be fruitful and proseper, and the only reason a man and a man shouldn’t lay together is because they can’t procreate. It says nothing about them getting married.

Me: Your right! We all do have one sex chromosome, but like I said you are limiting God’s power to your own knowledge. Like dissecting and animal (horrible image) and cloning scientist take a part of the animal or human so that they can gain there DNA, DNA are a fascinating thing because they are so complex. The scientist can choose whether to use that DNA as is and create an exact clone of the host or the can combine it with a secondary source and BOOM millions of possible outcomes from that one gene. Before Eve was created yes, Adam had an X and a Y chromosome but God being the great engineer that he is (and with all of his power) took away that Y chromosome and there you go. He created a man and a women so that the world can distinguish who is who. Oh and yes my friend, the bible has a clear definition of marriage (and many different ways of saying it so that you understand) but I will not tell you. I want you to read the bible and gain the knowledge for yourself. (Then you can come on facebook and tell us of your pros and cons). Oh and Vitto, the only reason a man and a man shouldn’t lay together is because they can’t procreate? Oh honey, yeah the Bible states in black and white why a man shouldn’t be with a man. There’s chapters and verses dedicated to this topic, again you’ll have to read it and gain your own understanding. And if you know the definition of marriage that last sentence would be irrelevant.

Friend: So how come when scientists do these things the Christian community damns them? When we try to do and explain things it’s blasphemy. If we took away religion today, in only a few generations either there would be no religion or some new religion would be created. If we took away science today, things would be rediscovered and remain constant.

Me: Only God should have the power of life and death, we believe that by scientists doing these things they are trying to play God. Yes, I know that they are trying to advance and help the world but sometimes we have to just let things be. Our own curiosity will kill us sadly. When humans try to explain things, there’s nothing wrong that. Asking questions and searching for answers is a good thing. I think that people should stop looking at “Christians” (who are mainly extreme Catholics and at the end of the day just human ) and start looking at God himself. When you stop looking and the flawed race known as human kind and start looking to the one that actually matters then, and only then will you be able to distinguish what is of God and what isn’t. “If we took away religion today, in only a few generations either there would be no religion or some new religion would be created. I’ll tell you my friend that is also in the bible and it says that there will come a day (rather soon actually) that what you stated will happen, all that I prayed is that the good Lord will take me home before it does
